Gaia op de Weegh en Ellian Guevara Alvarado

In Evenwicht (In Balance) is a dynamic dance performance in which two bodies explore their physical boundaries. Strength and softness merge as the dancers balance between control and surrender. They play with slowness, vulnerability and the tension of falling and getting up. Together they seek structure and stability – a balance that is only possible through collaboration.

Gaia op de Weegh (1998) and Ellian Guevara Alvarado (2000) form a new creative duo. Ellian combines hip hop and contemporary dance, while Gaia – with a bachelor’s degree in Performance (KASK) – works multidisciplinary. Together they experiment with physical contact, locations and materials, in search of new movement language and unexpected possibilities.
