Ben Herlaar Masina

In KORPUS, an individual literally and figuratively gets into a tangle with himself. He pushes, pulls, squeezes and drives his body to the limit in a relentless search for self-discovery. What remains when every twist and every boundary of the body has been explored?

The performance starts from pure curiosity, but does not shy away from the rough and uncomfortable. We follow the figure as he stands up and falls down again, struggling with his own capacities, balancing between control and surrender.

Ben Herlaar Masina (2006) started his performing arts adventure at BRONKS and continued his passion in the Drama course at the Kunsthumaniora Brussels, where he graduated in 2024. He played in productions by fABULEUS, including Off the Record (Sofie Palmers, 2022) and Human Instruction Manual (Helder Seabra, 2023). He also appeared in Versterker (Jinte de Greef, 2024) and Oer (Daan Haeverans, 2024). In September 2024 he started his bachelor Drama at KASK and in April 2025 he will play in out of hands by Michiel Vandevelde (fABULEUS). KORPUS is his most recent work, in which the body becomes the ultimate arena for self-exploration.
