Pathway to Happiness

Asharani Devgune

Why do we seek happiness outside ourselves, when its source lies within our own hearts? Pathway to Happiness is a compelling dance drama that explores the search for inner joy. Asharani Devgune introduces you to hidden gems from Indian mythology, performed in a mix of Indian dance styles such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak and traditional folk dances. This performance takes you on a unique audiovisual journey and inspires you to walk your own path to happiness.

Asharani Devgune (better known as Ashu) is a dancer, choreographer and teacher from India who currently lives and works in Belgium. She specialises in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Bollywood and Indian folk dances such as Kalbelia, Ghoomar, Chari and Lavni. She began her dance training at the age of six and obtained a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Bharatanatyam from the University of Pune. She received the prestigious National Talent Research Scholarship and worked as a dancer and choreographer for Sumit and T-Series in India. In Tanzania she founded the dance school Nupur Nrutyala, after which she moved to our country in 2017.
