Frederik Kaijser - Kunsthumaniora Brugge
For this performance, the dance department of Kunsthumaniora Brugge invited guest choreographer Frederik Kaijser to work with all 2nd and 3rd grade students. For a week, all students were immersed in Frederik’s world of movement, in which he searched for ways to find depth through shared images, ideas, sensations and textures in the body. His work reflects a search for extremes in many ways, finding freedom and playing with possibilities to create movement that is rich and layered
Frederik Kaijser (he/him), born in Terneuzen (NL), graduated from Codarts in Rotterdam in 2017 after an internship with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. As a freelance dancer, he works with both established and emerging choreographers in Europe, including Arno Schuitemaker, Joshua Monten and Antonin Comestaz. In addition to his work as a dancer, Frederik creates choreographies that have been presented at festivals such as Roots (BE) and the International Choreographic Competition Hannover (DE). He regularly collaborates with visual artists and musicians, focusing on his interdisciplinary approach.
